About
Valerie Henkin is a distinguished piano teacher with 35 years of experience who brought up generations of professional musicians as well as amateurs who keep loving music for the entire life. Valerie is a recipient of Harvard University Kittridge Fund for developing new method working with the beginners.

Among Valerie's students there are winners of numerous State, National, and International Competitions such as: NEPTA High School Competitions; NEPTA Middle School Competitions; MMTA Bay State Competitions; MTNA (MA State) Competitions; Chopin International Competitions in Hartford CT; Elite International Competition in NY City; Fine Arts American Festival, NYC; Great Composers Competitions; Ithaca College International Competitions in Ithaca NY; Encore International Competitions; and Miclot International Music Competition. Her students entered Peabody Conservatory (Class of B.Slutsky and A.Shtarkman), Northwestern University School of Music, Cornell University School of Music (Class X.Bjerken), NYU School of Music, UMass Amherst School of Music (Class G.Vonsattel), and Boston University School of Music. Majority Of Valerie's students who didn't apply for a Music Major, were admitted into colleges with merit music scholarships. Among these colleges are Harvard University, Tufts University, Caltech, Brandeis University, McGill University, New York University, George Washington University, Northwestern University, Northeastern University, Johns Hopcins University, UCLA, and many more. Among Valerie's students there are professional musicians working in conservatories in USA and her native Ukraine.

Valerie Henkin graduated from Gnessin Academy of Music with the Highest Honor , and then Postgraduate studies in Kharkiv Conservatory. She studied with Professors Boris Berlin, Vera Nosina, and Victor Makarov.

Valerie's students perform in major venues in the US such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kaufmann Center in NYC, Boston Symphony Hall, Shalin Liu Performing Center in Rockport MA, Schumann House in Zwickau Germany, Liszt Salon in Weimar Germany. Her students attend Music Camps in the US and Germany. Valerie is a cofounder of Music Study for Youth in Weimar, Germany.
